Ford Taunus 17m P2

I am interested and about to purchase a Taunus 17m P2 and wanted to know if anyone knows of common issues in restoring this kind of cars, other than getting parts. If I were to restore this car what kind of a market is there for selling it?
I know that is would be easier to make it more of a cruiser, but would it be more worth it to attempt to keep it original in my restoration? Possible pictures to come with more questions!
