In the mailbox today I received a letter from the CA DMV, regarding the current owner of the 1965 Corsair that I sold to a (I won't post what name I have for him) Englishman in the LA area. The reply said that the car received a junk title on 09/06/06, & was "sold" to a wrecking yard. I called them (Ecology Auto), & was told that the keep the cars for a limited time, & then they're crushed. This was our oldest son's first car in high school, & put many, many hours into it. I hope someone got something from it before it was crushed. This is the same guy that sold an Escort to Mark in British Columbia, Canada.

Doug,
That is really rotten. (Though I'm not totally surprised). As I understand it it was a V8 street rod project gone bad (probably doomed from the start). Stories like this are why I feel a special responsibility for the unique cars that I own.

On behalf of the English I apologise! It is a shame that one of my countrymen in your fine country didn't want to save the Corsair especially as it is so rare there. You don't see many here let alone in foreign lands.

Paul,
You don't need to apologise for his behavior because he's English - bad behavior is bad behavior no matter where you're from.
By the way,he moved back to England.

Here are a couple of photos of this car when Doug found the car on the side of I-5 near Roseburg, Oregon in the mid-1990s.

Well I guarentee you the Escort isn't going to the crushers, so I at least saved that one..
Too bad, a corsair or capri are on my list of wants..
