Barn find. Two 105Es
This one the floor and rocker sills are okay, but the bottoms of the fenders in all four corners are gone.




The other one the floor is is gone but the panels might be salvageable. Both not running. Strut towers okay, glass okay, door seals etc shot.

I'm not worried about the running gear but the flaky kind of rust is everywhere on the inside of the fenders and the metal from the trunk floor to the bottom on the fenders is gone. The flaky rust in on the frame rails too.
Any suggestions? Can I do better than this?

There is nothing that can not be saved. A mig welder, some flat sheet metal, and some hammering skills can save about anything. My Taunus was nothing but rust from the bottom of the fenders up about 6 inches. The rockers were non existent and the lower part of the hood up about 6 inches was gone (both outer sheet metal and inner framework). The floor pans were also shot. It takes time, but with enough welding wire, gas, and patience, anything can be saved.

It depends on where you are and how much the cars cost...
If you are in California and they weren't free than yes, too rusty.
If you are in England or a state where they use salt in winter and they were less than $1000 than no they are totally salvageable.

Looks like most of that will just buff right out anyway.

Both look saveable to me.. but then I am some sort of nut at best!
