It seems alittle high, but it is impossible to really make a rational decision without at least some photos, and more info on the history of the car.

1951 Anglia Purchase

The car was purchased by its current owner in 1964. It was tagged until 1972 where it has been in garage storage since that time. I has been painted once, the turn signals in the side were removed, both bumpers are bent (not bad), there is no rust only a small amount of surface rust. There has been a small amount of damage repaired on the bottom of the trunk. The windshield is chipped, the back glass has fallen out into the car. The interior has been redone at some time. Two side window glasses are broken. The odometer is showing 34962 but wear signs on the steering wheel seem to indicated 134962. The motor had some work done on it and the wrong rings were installed causing it to smoke and it has been parked since 72. Please advise also how to include photos as I have taken several.
Thanks,
Brenda

There is a 1953 on eBay, the bid is at $5,100, reserve not met. You might want to watch this one:

Peteleo, having seen the pics privately, that was my advice also. This car is very saveable, but if you have to pay someone to do it, it makes no sense, except as a labor of love. $10k will get you a running, driving, stopping, starting beauty, which this car is far from.

I just emerged form my home office. I had been looking for my 2007 Old Cars Price Guide, but didn't find it. I know it carrys values for English Fords, though I've always thought that their numbers were a bit optimistic.

However I did find the Oct 08 issue of Collectible Automobile which had a feature on a '49 Anglia. CA always carrys a value guide for the cars that they feature. The value that they give the E494A Anglia is in my opinion shockingly low. Restorable $500 to 1,000, Good $1,000 to 2,000 and Excellent $2,000 to 4,000. I just don't think that you will find and Excellent E494's at that price.

The car your looking at looks very complete with a documented history -- maybe $5,000 would be reasonable? Don't really know, but I think that $10,000 is way too much. One thing that you have to keep in mind is that old Anglias are sought after by street rodders and drag race enthusiast who often will pay very good money for a project car.
