Hi Guys!
It seems like my Capri has a bit of a starting problem...but it only happens when it is cold in the mornings.
I turn the ignition on with the key and the light comes on to show I have power...but when I turn the key to start it nothing happens. I try it a few more times and eventually it does crank over.
Once it is warmed up it will start straight away.
It has a brand new battery so Im thinking solenoid?
Any help appreciated :D

Could be yur selenoid or bad electrical connection . I will check my electrical connections first then wrk with the solenoid

It could be a cable problem; clean all connections, i.e. both battery terminals, the two at the solenoid, the connection at the starter, the earth (ground) connection battery to the body and both ends of the earth cable between the body and the engine / transmission.

If you still have the problem, use a 12V test lamp to check that the solenoid is allowing current to pass when the key is turned. If so, use it to see if said current is reaching the starter. If so, the starter is faulty, and I'd imagine worn brushes to be the cause (get someone to hold the key on start and tap the starter motor sharply. If it begins to turn, there's your problem!).
