Does anyone know the part number for Koni rear shocks for a 68 Cortina GT? Are these the same as used by the Lotus Cortina? I see Koni shocks on eBay for the MkII Lotus, but never ones listed for the GT.
Thanks,
Mortarch

I bought these many years ago for my 100e Anglia project (a car that I am still working on) When I bought them they were listed as fitting a 67 Cortina or Lotus Cortina??? I have a set of 1967 Mk2 Cortina struts here and the shocks are too long for them however they fit perfectly in my stock 100e strut tubes but the shock itself does not extend outward as far as the original 100e. I have here also a set of 1966 Mk1 GT Cortina struts that are currently fully assembled, my plan is to strip them and remove the spring seats for a coilover setup. When I get these apart I will try the Konis in these struts, just eye balling it the shocks look like they should work. After all that I will work on the best way to put the Mk1 struts into the 100e with consideration to the front end geometry.
I had another look at the shocks and the aditional numbers are 12 72, maybe its the date but the seals and all look perfect. The other thing is in a box it says Special D, I assume thats for the D shape on the top of the shaft?? Thanks for checking

There is always a catch 22 trying to fit 105E/Cortina MK1/2 inserts into 100E struts. You would need to do some extensive mods to make it work.
Locate a set of 100E inserts from U.S.A. Anglia Obsolete, EnFord Spares in
NZ, etc. Esp. if you are using the 100E engine.
Trying to adapt the Cortina 1/2 full front suspension requires mods that again isn't worth the trouble if you maintain the 100E engine.
Special'D' means internally adjustable.

Thanks for the input and boy was I wrong about the "Special D". I am no stranger to suspension mods, My Anglia is going to fitted with a 1660 X/flow with ported alloy head, cam, 1300 pistons and twin 40 dcoe carbs all mated to a Quafe close ratio 4 speed box connected to a 4.1 105e rear axle. I do have a fair bit but not all of the info re the suspension setup thanks to the lads on the ford100e.com website but they now all lean towards the easy to find U.K. Escort developed kits but on this side of the world I am still a bit old school. It's a bit of trial and error but that's part of the fun, if it works.
