Anglia 123E (Type 3) transmission output seal

I'm looking for a current brand/part number for for the transmission tailshaft oil seal. This is a 123E gearbox (1200cc Anglia), I think they are generally referred to as Type 3. This is a box I got from an EnfoStuff member, and I want to replace the seal while it's out on the bench, just in case it's old. Also, can it be removed from the outside? The factory manual shows a special tool.

thank you,
Carl K.

Hi Carl, the seals can still be had, maybe even locally but I have bought them in the past on Ebay. Here is some examples from the U.K.

your trans tail seal is I THINK the same as a 2000e box

When you pop the seal out (no special tools required) you should inspect the bushing in the tail housing behind it although I don't have any specs for that??

Brett-

I found a NOS seal on eBay. The Payen part number is NA167. It went right in from the outside. Switched transmissions and also had a chance to install a Speedograph remote shifter. Goodbye "magic wand"!

Shifter looks good, reminds me of the wooler type shifter. I have an old Cortina shifter here that I thought I might experiment with, I think I will try a cut and shorten of the body and shaft. Might work out??
