Brake MC

Post by emmodg »

My brake MC is all but destroyed inside the bore! Took me forever to get the piston out and the bore is all scratched and pitted.

Is there a brake MC from another car I could use? MG,Triumph,...?

I did find an MC from England listed as a big bore vs. 5/8" standard bore. Pit has a plastic res. Would this work. My MKI is a GT with front disks so I would think it would be fine.

Thanks!

Before you buy anything check out Wilwood, they have lots of stuff that fit our cars, same fitting as Girling stuff.

Which one?

The girling style seems like a match but I worry about volume limitations of it for brakes.....

I get all my brake stuff from www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk in England. They are awesome.

Contact WhitePost Restorations, http://www.whitepost.com, to have it bored and brass sleeved. It will last forever. I have had several done and the work is excellent.

I saw that one. I'm probably being cheap but I was hoping there was a less expensive alternative....

Powertrack will be a lot less than that and it's brand new, not NOS rotting on the shelf.

emmodg....I used the wilwood 5/8" bore...Speedway part number 835 260 2636. The outlet threads are correct too. I had to remove the supplied pushrod and put the stock pushrod in its place.
I used 5/8" because that was on the car and it is my understanding that the 5/8" is correct for the 100E. Brakes work great !!

5/8" is the correct size for a 100E. If you fit a larger bore, you'll have a pedal which barely moves when you press it, but you'll need to use both feet to get any braking effort.
