Clutch/brake master cylinder bore sizes

Post by PWilson45 »

Looking to replace Master cylinders on my newly acquired '59 Escort wagon.
What are the bore sizes of the two MC's.
Thanks
Pete

Original Girling brake and clutch m/c are .625 bore.

Aluminum bores can be honed if in descent shape. Girling rebuilt kit p/n:
SP1963 easily obtained on-line. Rusted tin caps can be cleaned to bare metal then coated with solder. Have article on how to if needed. Pete

Hey, I see part of your location says "SNJ". If that's southern NJ, where abouts? I'm in Pittsgrove in Salem County.

Fred, I'm close to LBI. My Escort has lived it's life in So. Jersey.
It's a nice mostly original car just needing hydraulics.
Cheers, Pete

Sounds good. Post up some pics sometime. (Is it the light blue one I'm familiar with?)
