2000E Oil seal

Post by Langlia »

Changed my oil seal today.. really had to fight to get the old one out.

Installed an Anglia 105E one.

As far as I see 2000E seals are compatible with the 105E per Burton's seal..

Had a really tough time getting the prop back in, had to give it a few whacks. Do these seals usually start out that tight?

It does rotate by hand in neutral albeit a little difficult not as free as before, ran it on the jackstands through all gears. Doesn't seem to be any problems?

Thoughts?

Thanks guys

100E, 105E, Cortina MK1/2, Capri / Pinto 1600 rear tx seals are compatible.
Double lip seal should fit tight on the yoke. Outer lip is meant as a dust shield. New seal won't prevent oil leaking if the T/L shaft bushing is worn though.

Let's hope that's not the case, I've had various gearboxes in and out 4 times. I'm pretty good at it now though.
