Anyone have the specs for the step up on the flywheel where the clutch disc sits? Need the thickness. Thanks!

What engine are you talking about? the crossflow needs no step but some others do.

Thanks Brett. Yes it's a 1.6 xflow I realize now that was a very vague post. Confirmed with two other people I need a flat flywheel. I brought in a 132 tooth to get skimmed and it had a very very small step.

That is interesting, perhaps someone was trying to create a bit more clamping pressure on the clutch disc? When I worked at a Vancouver BMW dealership I used to machine a .3 MM step when it was necessary to resurface the flywheel because they were that way from the factory. I am talking about the mating surface where the pressure plate sits being .3MM lower.

Anything is possible. I see Burton sells them with and without a step.

The stock ones appear to have no step.. anything that accepts a racing clutch seems to have the step. Maybe because it can handle more clamping pressure?
