Tie rod rebuild kit

Post by Langlia »

Is there such thing as a rebuild kit for the tie rod ends?

I notice new ones are quite expensive. Or is there something aftermarket for the Anglia? No need to regrease.

Thanks!

No, you can't rebuild them.

New old stock ones became unavailable decades ago so all new ones are remanufactured, hence the cost.

They are available on ebay in the States. Put in English Ford or Ford Anglia tie-rod ends. 100E & 105E are the same.

You can get them out of the U.K. as well and make sure of your thread direction.https://www.smallfordspares.co.uk/produ ... l-h-thread. I looked on Ebay and found them as well but I had to have a laugh at this set, when I look at the shipping cost I realize that the seller must be a dreamer or hopeless at math.

Where do those insane numbers come from? Is that generated by Ebay by mistake or could a seller really be out of his mind?

Same seller has more items listed for $ 500 economy shipping. He either mistakenly misplaced the decimal point or willingly sucker punch a buyer.

Shipping cost from England are ridicules. I had some body seal shipped from England to Detroit last year and it cost me $72 USD, The original quote was $125 USD. They ended breaking the package up into 3 shipping bags (YES, thick plastic bags) after I begged to find a way to reduce the cost on a $230 USD order. These shipping bags were about 3"x 12"x12" each and the total weight was about 10 Lbs. I still thing it was highway robbery.

Just my 2 pence worth.

I got a whole front bumper shipped from Ireland last year for $59.00 by DHL and it arrived in less than a week. I don't think I could have shipped it from California for that amount.

I think I used ParcelHero or Parcel2go last time I shipped a Cortina 4 branch back to the UK. It was £45 I think for 7 day shipping but I wanted the 3 day to expediate it.. £60
