Mk II Cortina 1600 throttle linkage

Post by andrew »

My new 68 Cortina Deluxe (1600 Kent engine, single-throat Autolite carb) has a very jury-rigged linkage between the gas pedal end and the throttle bar extension coming off the carb. It's a wonder it stays on at all. Is this a common problem area? Anyone have a spare linkage for sale?

Were you able to get the linkages sorted. Do you have the little steel clips in place that keep the linkage from disconnecting? The ones i am referring to slide on over the ball stud ends to keep the linkage from coming apart. Proper adjustment of the linkage and the trans cable (auto trans) is essential for proper operation.

These linkages, normally should not be a problem.
