Fabulous Fords Forever Weekend 2005 as reported by Ed Rossier in the Summer 2005 issue of the E-Ford Lines.
We had a really great weekend. It started Saturday morning with eight Capris at the Peterson Auto Museum, then onto Auto Books in Burbank and ending at a Team Blitz sponsored dinner at Friscos Burgers.
Sunday morning started around 7:30 with breakfast at Denny’s and then a caravan to Knott’s Betty Farm. There were 24 Capris, yes 24 Capris, at Knott’s. This included one English Consul Capri, 20 German Capris, one “Fox” Capri and two Aussie Capris. There were also three Cortinas (Mk I & II), one Escort (Mk I) [there was also a Mk II Zephyr Farnham estate elsewhere on site], one Comete (a French Ford that was invited to the Pebble Beach Concours last year), nine XR4Tis and two Scorpios. [Grand Total: 38 of the 41 cars in the European Ford Class were European Fords].
The Southern California Capri Club did a great job of organizing the European Ford class this year. I would especially like to thank Jeff Kayston, Chris Rosenau and Scott LaBue for all of their hard work in pulling his together. Thanks also to Norm Murdock for sponsoring the Team Blitz gathering at Friscos Burgers. It was great.
Editors Note: NAEFR gave out two prizes at the event too. The Longest Distance award went to John Ertz for his LeMans Green 1972 Capri 2600 (trailered from Minnesota). The Most Unusual Euro-Ford award went to Gary Wright and his 1954 Comete Monte Carlo.

Six kinds of Capris

A rare one owner Chastain Capri in the Peterson parking garage.

John Ertz's '72 Capri. The bright LeMans Green was a stock color in Europe, but not in the States. This federal spec Capri was painted Le Mans Green at the factory as a special order.

EFONA member Ed Rossier sent me this link to his Fabulous Ford Forever photos from the 2008 show, as well the note below. It looks like Euro-Ford (especially Capris and EnFos) attendance was down quit a bit from recent years.

Looping back from a trip to Arizona, I drove by the site on I-5, the Thursday before the event. I wished that I could stay, but I had to be back at work on Monday.
