Post by Cologne_P7 »

Over the last years, there are an international meeting of P4/P6 owners from all over Europe near the lake Edersee in the land Hessen/Germany (area of Kassel). Interesting pictures and videos of this event:

english article about the 2017 event (pdf file):

plus a nice video about it:

Sure, a little bit far away from the USA. Maybe, someone are on vacation in Germany or Europe, so they'll would be visit this event from 24.-26. May 2019 (english/german posting):

The area around the lake Edersee is fantastic and full of history too. Many visitors from all over Europe stay here in the summertime for weeks now. So, the P4/P6 club visit also this place :)

Hi Harry,
Any chance that there is the same type of info and articles/videos from last years event?

Where do people stay during the event? Is there a hotel near by? I cannot make this years event but possibly in a coupe of years. I always wanted to visit Germany, My Mom's side of the family is from there.

Cheers,
Bob

Hi Bob,

I visit this event in 2017 and 2018. As far as I remember, they came together on saturday and sunday. The drivers (who liked) made a journey together around the lake area and drove over the dam. It was only opened for two or three classic car events a year, on the other days, no chance for cars, but this would be 100% okay.

To get more information about future events, take a look on this site (english/german):

I'm not sure, if this event is always way over there, near the Edersee. They switched from time to time the places.

A brand new western style motel-hotel opened near the place, where the P4/P6 event is located. Take a look, but you must be quick, to get a room, if the bikers and the P4 owners are also be there:

Bikers make very often a break at this place, because they have a nice restaurant and it is the right place for every kind of event. The Harley Davidson owners visit this place every year. A real big thing!

In 2017, bikers and Ford fellows were there at the same time. A lot of fun and action :-)

All the best

Hi Harry,
Thanks for all the info. our plans for vacations this years are already made so hopefully we will make it in the future.

I have read a lot about the Taunus 12M p4 because of my interest in the Mustang I concept car that used the P4's drivetrain. I also had a few discussions with Roy Lunn who was the Mustang I and GT40 lead engineer. Very interesting guy.

Cheers,
Bob
P.S. Keep us posted about the P4 or Taunus events!
