I was both pleasantly surprised and honored when I (my car) was invited to be parked in a display lineup at Portland International Raceway on Friday.
A good number of rally related classic cars were in the lineup, and we were able to partake in a parade lap round the course.
It was a fantastic time, and one I'll never forget.

All loaded up Friday morning.
A quick shakedown test revealed that the car had lost the backing nut on the alternator support bracket bolt. I was able to steal a nut and lock washer from the driving lamp assys.

A few pics of some of the display line up included Marks Merkur, Gareths Mk1 Escort and Mk1 Cortina, a Mk1 Lotus Cortina as well as my Mk2 Escort.

And the classic Fords that worked very hard in the rally event included 2 Mk2 Escorts.

Good pictures, it is interesting to see that green/white Cortina Mk1. I am sure it is the same car that I took these photos of in 1994 (28 years ago) at the SIR race circuit. I am glad the car survives.

Yes!
It's the same car!
It's out and about quite a bit.
The rear quarter panels are slowly dissapearing, but the car has such wonderful mojo.
I love seeing it being used and last I heard it was also maybe a course recce car too.

Still not too bad considering the years, that car was already 28 years old when I took the photos.

Yeah, still doing good.
I'd totally drive the wheels off of it,
