Consol Capri

Post by Bob_S »

Hi All,
I was wondering how many list members have a Consul Capri? How many are in the States? I think they are unique and would love to see one in person. Did all of them have disc brakes and we're the brakes the same as the Cortina?

Thanks,
Bob

They all had discs. The calipers are likely the same but the struts might not interchange as the Consul was more Anglia based. I have owned two. The latter of which is languishing in San Diego, but it could be for sale, I heard. It has not turned a wheel since I sold it back in 96ish.

I had 2 of them also - a '62,& a '63.
The '62 had a 1340cc engine,& the '63 had a 1500.
I used to keep track of serial numbers on these,
& came up with about 15 survivors.
These were $2495 in '62 - a LOT of money for an
unusual car at that time. You could buy a new Galaxie for
about that price.
I've collect brochures,road tests,articles,etc. for these,
& will probably be selling it all of in the near future.
