Adding a sway bar

Post by canadianmk3 »

My Mk3 Cortina really dives into corners and when heavy on brakes. And while I do like the comfortable ride, Its chewing up my (maybe) too wide tires. Id like to add a sway bar, And Im sure I can do it, but Im just not sure what donor vehicle I can snag one from? Or does it really matter as long as the ends of the bar are somewhere close to the LCA?

Cheers guys

Don't understand why you'd want that, but either a 73 or 74 Capri would work...

I don't have any personal experience but I have heard or read several times that adding a rear bar can really mess things up.

Most of the TC's had swaybars overhere front and rear .
Some early models with small engines came without .
So part is available for this car .
For the rear there where at least 3 sizes , 12 , 16 and 18mm .
They are mounted inside the lower Control arms .

With a little work....Datsun 510. And adding a rear bar can give the car snap oversteer..so heads up.
