If I recall that paticular car was a one off design concept that never made it to production. I'm sure someone else will chime in with more info.

That is a recreation of a concept Cortina coupe called 'Saxon' which Ford commissioned shortly after the Mk1 Cortina was introduced in 1962. The original car has long since disappeared, presumed scrapped, so a guy decided to make a replica from a standard 2-door saloon. An amazing amount of work has gone into it and it really is quite unique.

I was watching a classic car show from Manila, Philippines about 2 weeks ago and one guy there displayed a Saxon that was originally owned by Stirling Moss.
According to him, "Ford made three Saxons intended to be sold in the U.S.
market. One went to the U.S., one to Australia, and the other was kept in England and later given to Moss. The other two were scrapped"
The front seats were not typical Cortina but looked much like the seats from a Hooper Consul Capri GT.
Did anyone else see that show?

The Cortina in Manila is I believe not the Saxon. Stirling Moss did help design a special version of the Cortina GT with the work done by Ogle Design with a kind of fastback roof. Very few were built, maybe a few as three and it is likely that the one in Manila is one of those. The Saxon was built by Ford as a concept, indeed there only appears to be one photo of it from the right rear and if you see it it even has different windows on each side. The Saxon may have been sent to the US for evaluation but that's not confirmed. It's very very doubtful that it exists.

Thanks, Paul for the info and clarifying that. I thought he was talking about the Saxon but now it may have been the fastback version of the MK1 GT.
It had grille cut-outs for driving lights.

Paul, wow thanks for the Goodwood video. I especially like your car on the truck (and all the trucks in general). I think that a picture of your Anglia turned uo in the American magazine Autoweek earlier this year. I'll go back and scan it.
This long weekend had a break in the weather which allowed me to get two of my old Fords out for a drive. They don't get driven as much as they should.

Glad you enjoyed the Goodwood video Michael. It is of course a pretty prestigious event known the world over and it was great that they recognised Ford in Britain's centenary and did the parade on all three days of the event. It was a shame that the weather wasn't as good as it could have been but that's the UK for you.
Wow, my Anglia may have been in Autoweek? I'd love to see that and why they be writing about Anglias. Do you have my email? If not I'll send it on a PM.

Yes, that's Colin Ginn's reproduction of the 1962 Cortina Saxon concept car.
Really nice work that guy does.
