I'm trying to identify the brake servo in my mk2 Cortina in the hope of tracking down a repair kit. Can anyone identify it, I'm guessing it was used on other vehicles. The rubber gaiters says Girling and a number but I can't track that down to a model. Thanks

Looks similar to one from a Cortina 10/68 on for the GT and SW models.

You would need to have it rebuilt at a brake shop or one that specializes in rebuilding boosters. They can replace all the rubber pieces including the diaphram.

You might even consider deleting the booster altogether, my Mk2 Lotus Cortina had two separate remote boosters and one was sucking fluid to the point of it entering the inlet manifold with an annoying amount of smoke. I intended to rebuild them but wanted to still drive the car so I bypassed them, what I discovered was that my car was perfectly drivable without the boosters so I drove it that way for 11 years.

I have the same booster on my GT, and when it failed the brakes were a lot harder. Recommend the overhaul. If you don't have any luck in NH let me know as I had it done in San Jose Ca and it was an 6 hour turnaround. The y replaced all the rubber.

It also looks very similar if not identical to the ones fitted to Triumph TR6's. Triumph parts are generally very available from a number of sources so if you want to tackle the job yourself the kit might not be all that hard to find.
