Lead additive in fuel

The Mk1 Estate that I just purchased had several bottles of Lead additive to put in the fuel. The previous owner had been putting the additive in the tank every fill up as I found the fuel log in the glovebox. Is it some thing I should continue to doo or should I stop and deal with motor issues down the road? Like to hear some opinions.

I don't use an additive, and have done several hundred thousand miles with 1198 pre-crossflows without any problems.

No need for additives on any kind on this engine.

Sounds like a problem car to me - you should sell it.

To me. :D
