Lee, I'm not sure about how the numbers run although over here we have a historian on the Anglia owner's club. He may be able to give you an answer. If you go to the club's website
www.fordanglia105eownersclub.co.uk you can register (free) to join in the various discussions. The historian is Aubone Braddon and he will happily help you if you send the photos that you have posted here. He's a nice guy with a collection of Anglias of different types. Sounds as if you have a real early export car, I'd love to see it!
Dave, thanks for the compliments on the car! I bought the car from the then club secretary in November 2000. The story of the car is that it has had three owners from new. The 105E was introduced in the UK on September 30th 1959 and my car was registered to its first owner on 7th October 1959. He kept it for 30 years to 1989 when it passed on to its second owner. It is a September built car and most of the car is original with only service parts being replaced. Paint and chrome are as it came in 1959. No restoration work has ever been done and it has never been welded. It has quite a few accessories including the steel sunvisor, radio, over riders, fog and spot lamps, wheel trims, heater plus two tone paint. It still has the original rubber mat in the trunk and even has the tag hanging from the rear light wiring! The chassis number is 13080 and it is possibly the oldest survivor. It's definitely the oldest original car. Mileage to date is just over 31,000. I try not to put too many miles on the car and really only take it to shows that are not too far from home. It is a pleasure to drive as it is still very tight and I love it to bits! If you want to know anything else feel free to post it here or e-mail me on
