Greetings from Germany

Hello everybody. My name is Harry. My classic car is a Ford 26M, type P7b, built in 1971 in Cologne. After a long restoration, the car is back on the road, but only at really nice weather.
I was surprised by all the rare Euro Ford vintage cars in the US and Canada.
In Germany meanwhile 50-year-old Fords are very rare. Most were scrapped over the years.
There are a lot more expensive Porsche and Mercedes classic cars than historic Ford models, which means pedestrians will not turn around and take look tor these cars. The old Ford is quite different, as much rarer than Porsche or Mercedes and of course, great design, People are happy to see old Ford classic cars

Hello Gary, I could not find any upload button, so I put a link in my posting. It navigate you directly to a pic in wikipedia. It is my car. I use another pic for the german wikipedia P7 site, because I wrote some lines for this site.

When you post or reply. Look at title box and look to the far right. Under that is a URL button and under that is a "Upload Picture" button. The rest is easy.

Hi Harry, Glad to see overseas members join.

Ford did not officially import the Taunus by the 60's. There are still a few 50's 12m/15m/17m in N. America.
My uncle bought a new '70 20M coupe in Holland and while my brother and I were on vacation there he drove us around Amsterdam.
Ford Taunus are quality made cars.

Pete, great you has be driven with a 20M

Like all the other old cars, the P7 has problems with rust. Most of this ole beauties were gone. Another problem are the spare parts. It is nearly impossible to get several spare parts in a top condition today, like the original chrom stuff, whindshield etc. One of the reasons is, the central Ford ware house for Europe burn to the ground in 1977:

Sorry, no upload picture button under the URL button. It must be link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC. Thats the info from "Formatting and Topic Types" of this site. Anyway, the wikipedia p7 site shows my car from the front and from inside.

German Vintage Gasstation in the Black Forest

In 2016, the restauration of a an historical gas station got finished. They put a lot of work and love into the restauration. New technic, but in the style of the 50s and 60s. In 2017, it became the gas station of the year. Drivers of classic cars and motorcycles stop way over there for a break

For all visitors of the Black Forest area in Germany: The location of this new-old station is in the area of Freudenstadt (in the Black Forest).

Take a look on the clips: A nice looking Ford P7a 20M TS stop at the station and an old Ford Eifel convertible is parking in the garage.

Welcome to this page. I have a soft spot for the P7b, great looking cars. For awhile I had a P7a RS 2300 coupe. It was a total project car and after several years of doing nothing with it, I sold it. It when to Sweden and I have not heard of it since. There are photos of it elsewhere on this site.

Hi Michael,

it is nice, that you has been driven a P7 too. In Sweden and Norway, these P7 vintage cars are very popular and there are more of them than in Germany. In this two northern countries, the classic cars are very well maintained and elaborately restored.
