An interesting VIN plate

Post by Brett Wilkie »

I found the VIN plate to be interesting on this vehicle, we recently had a small rod show here in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, the Anglia was quite nicely done.

These Anglias were usually hotrodded. VIN tag obviously a replica stamped with useful information to comply with DMV rules. According to Dave Turner " Ford Popular and small sidevalves " E493A model Prefect 48 - 53. A/E ?

Yes, it is kind of a novelty and I know you can easily buy the blank VIN plates, it makes it look a little bit factory.

That is a nice touch! I wonder how the numbers and letters were imprinted? Stamped? machined? Laser?
I have held off stamping my blank VIN plate because I would never get the numbers so nicely sized and spaced as he did.
I might have to follow his lead... and have my Engine No. on my VIN plate to read "LIMA 2.3"
