Both my Mk1 cortina and Mk1 consul were at the shooting of the " Free as a Bird' video. I only ever saw the finished vid once, and I don't think we made it into the final cut. I also had to drive the Thames 800 on set cos no-one else could work out the column change. The director did not like that my car was LHD, so we removed the steering wheel and I drove it from the passenger seat with a vise grip on the steering column. Obviously, I didn't drive it too far in that condition. More like in a pre-scribed arc. I'll see if I can dig out some pics. For all you oldies out there, I also hung out all day with Spencer Davis [of the eponymous rock band] who was a lovely man and I still have the autographed 8x10. Btw, he brought a very nice Mini Cooper S. Fun day.
the older i get,the faster i went...
A friend of mine built that Anglia/Pop. It was bought for the film for some reason and later I heard it had been sold to a fellow in the US, possibly New York area?angliagt wrote:There was another one, starring Paul McCartney, titled
