Weber 32 DGV

Post by renaud »

Hi,
I'm new here so hello to everybody & thanks for being here!
I own a weber 32 DGV I found on a 1300 crossflow. 5Escort GT?)
Is that carb fundamentally different from the 32 DFM as used on the 1600 Cortina GT?

Renaud,

Both Webers are basically the same. They will interchange on any of the 1300,1500, 1600 GT manifolds. The Escort 1300 GT 32-DFV jet sizes and venturi are smaller compared to a Cortina/Escort 1600 GT.

Hi Pete,

So I can & probably will use it on a 1600 crossflow for my Seven S3 with other jets of course.
Thanks for that clarification.

Renaud,

The only problem is that with all 32-DGV/DFD/DFM the venturi/chokes are fixed in the carb body.
So they can't be removed. The venturi size for the 1600 GT are 26mm primary. 27mm secondary. 1300 GT are a couple of mm smaller thus will rob a bit the full power potential of the engine even if the correct size jets were installed.
