Selling my Taunus need help
Hello from a newbie, I am preparing to sell my 1963 Taunus Kombi. I have never offered it for sale in the past, but on the few occasions that I have taken it to local car shows, several people have tried to buy it from me. Unfortunately, they have all decided that a cute little two door station wagon is the perfect car to chop into a street rod. Does anyone have suggestions on finding a buyer who would preserve this car as an original? Or should I just give up and sell it to the first person who will pay the $2500 asking price, and save myself the trouble of worrying about it. -Greg

A local Ford enthusiast has made me a reasonable offer on the car, and is really pressing me to sell it to him. But I'm not to sure of his intentions. Although he says he would "keep it pretty stock" all of his other cars are highly modified and he seems to run with the street rod crowd, rather than preservationists.

TT, in my opinion you are under no obligation the ensure this car's future. You have done your part, which is why it is still around today. Is it better to sell it to an "enthusiast" who is potless and lets it fade away in a barn, or a rodder who will lavish thousands on it and cherish it forever? On the other hand, it could be t-boned by a semi tomorrow. It' s your car, do what you want with, and to it. The folks who scream the loudest about preserving it, should either buy it, or shut it.
