1951 Anglia Engine

Post by bransome »

Thanks to all of you who helped us with the purchase of our 1951 Anglia. You saved us $4K in the process (no kick backs though). NOW, we are wondering who would be a contact to see about getting the motor "gone through" and possibly if there is ANY way of beefing this little engine up to get a little more get up out of her. It has babbit (sp) rods. It has been gone through many years ago and the wrong rings were installed (out of a prefix (sp) we were told which caused it to smoke and the owner parked it since 1974. The engine is free it does turn over. Any input? We would LOVE to put some sort of an Ofenhauser head on it or just snaz it up some way.

It would really help if you put where you're located
in your posts.Shipping things like engines isn't cheap.

You could check out this site here in the UK www.ford-aquaplane.co.uk
Back in the old days Aquaplane tuning equipment was the thing for the UK ford flathead motors. Much of their stuff is now being reproduced.
