Fiesta Road trip

Post by raypmcc »

Just completed a 5,000 mile road trip frm MT to NY, then CT and back to MT via IA & MN....No motorhomes going my way.....didn't see a single Euro Ford anywhere, incl a car show in IL......some gals in an AUDI took a pix of us in Fiesta on I-80 W/B in PA......prob 4 Ripleys Believe it or not! My Fiesta looks kinda rough! Broke down only once in IL - - BAD potholes = sheared ALT bracket bolts - worst motel/neighborhood EVER! but next am some GREAT guys in a repair shop got me back on the road in less than 2 hrs! Ran outta gas only once in ND - - Fiesta was getting abt 41 mpg, but due to headwinds, fell to only 36 mpg.....ran out just 1/2 mile frm next station......spare fuel comes in handy! Cheers to all! Take your Euro-Ford for a REAL drive!

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the report. 5,000 is a lot of miles for a 30 year old car. Probably a lot of people said " I haven't seen one of those since..."

Yeah Michael - - the ole Fiesta is fine on the open Road..... the engine has abt 127,000 miles on it & runs better than ever! I use Slick-50 regularly....engine does use abt 1 qt. of 10w -40 oil abt every 1200 miles......not bad 4 the ole Kent (a REALLY impressive engine in MY opinion...) will p/u a set of nearly new BFG big radials mtd on fancy rims frm a guy @ a COSTCO who used to own a Fiesta some yrs ago.......should B a good deal 4 us both! also seeking another Fiesta (frm a farm near Shelby) that's supposed to B way better shape than mine....will keep U posted! Ray P.
