What other wheels will fit 59 Anglia

Post by enfomongoose »

Howdy folks,

I'm new to the forum but have had four 58-59 Anglias in the past.

Can anyone tell me what other wheels will fit a 59 Escort, I just bought one and out of California and it will arrive in san antonio on monday or tues.

Would like to find some rims that may be a little wider and mount some low profile tires on it to give it a lower stance, what are my options?

Thanx,
Rick

Welcome, Rick. At one time I owned a 100E and was also looking for wider rims to put on the original 100E suspension without much success.

The 100E rims are 3 5/8' wide and accepts a 155 or 165 max. and that gets real close to the strut tube. A wider rim would need to be off-set on the outer side and I've never located one. There are wheel spacers that will fit the 100E bolt pattern accepting rims with a more common pattern.
Stay under a 5" rim. Otherwise parking would be a bitch. Great for developing bigger biceps though. No problem clearances in the rear but still would need an adapter/spacer.

Thanx for the response......do you know where and what kind of spacer I'll need.

What kind of wheel or from what kind of car have the same bolt pattern?

Do you happen to know if there is a fellow by the name of Steve Brody on this forum somewhere?

Check out ebay "wheel spacers" there are over 25K results. Approx. 1" should do. Measure your rims. It should be closer to 4.75"? I think some 50's/60's BMC cars had the same bolt pattern, don't remember which models. Maybe someone on the forum may know.
